Desi OC

I was just watching this show called Desi OC on Youtube. It's about trials and tribulations of dating in desi community mostly ABCD's. It's pretty funny and hits the mark.
A girl says this to her dad about finding a guy," I am trying Dad. The good ones are taken, the smart ones are stupid and the hot ones just don't want to settle down."
Spot on I would say :).

Date Number 1

I am sure many of you have experienced the sub-standard dates with other people that makes you want to get up and run. The perpetual fake smile that's plastered to the face at all times, trying to laugh at the jokes that you don't think are funny but you do anyway and the numerous glances at the ticking clock to make sure that the time has run out so that you can make a quick getaway.

Let me recount an experience I had at a coffee shop recently. For privacy purposes, I would call him 'No 1'. The guy was already at the coffee shop waiting for me with his coffee in hand.  I go to him and say a 'Hi'. I see that he was a little nervous. The first thing he says to me after the introduction was that he already got his coffee. I mean seriously? He couldn't just wait for me to get there. I arrived exactly five minutes after him. Then I quickly tell him that I would go get something to drink. 'No 1' quickly says 'Ok'. He does not offer to buy me a $2 coffee.

Really guys, we do understand that chivalry is almost dead in this modern era, but the least the guys could do is to pretend to be gallant. It's a $2 coffee for god's sake. How do you expect the girl to be impressed by you when you don't fish out a penny from your pocket? This rather simple gesture shows me that this guy is cheap. I know what some of you would say about gender equality....blah blah. But when the guys do want to impress the fairer sex in the beginning the least you could do is play your cards right. You might be an amazing guy, but she wont stick around to figure that out.  It's hard enough with all the personality differences that you get to know exists later on. Just pass the first test. Alas, most of the girls out there (now women) still grew up listening to stories of Cinderalla and Snow white rescued by their knights in shining armor.
